Zombie Stealth Escape — G-STAR 2024
Player combat, weapon, inventory, and animation systems for an eleven-member UE5 stealth-action production exhibited at G-STAR 2024.
Project Context
Zombie Stealth Escape is an Unreal Engine 5 stealth-action game developed for public exhibition.
- The project was built by a cross-functional team of planners, designers, artists, and a smaller group of programmers.
- Development followed an Agile-style sprint process, requiring close coordination across gameplay, level design, animation, art, and programming.
- The game was exhibited at G-STAR 2024, received the Creativity Award at Kyung Hee University’s 2024 Software Festival, and won 1st Award at the Winter In-Depth Project Contest hosted by Korea IT Educational Foundation.
My Role & Implementation
I focused on the player-side combat, weapon, inventory, and animation-interaction layer.
- Built the weapon-class structure for melee, ranged, and throwing weapons, including shared attack interfaces, weapon-type behavior, weapon switching, socket attachment, equip flow, and action-state guards.
- Implemented player-side combat cases such as melee combo attacks with different animations, gun ammunition and reload behavior linked to the inventory component, throwing-weapon preparation, projectile-path preview, and physics launch.
- Worked on the animation layer tied to player combat, including montage event handling, AnimInstance / Animation Blueprint behavior, upper- and lower-body blending, and procedural aiming IK for weapon use.
Result
The project produced a full-team UE5 stealth-action game completed for public exhibition.
- Exhibited at G-STAR 2024 as a playable game project.
- Received the Creativity Award at Kyung Hee University’s 2024 Software Festival.
- Won 1st Award at the Winter In-Depth Project Contest hosted by Korea IT Educational Foundation.
- Completed through a long-term cross-disciplinary production process involving sprint-based collaboration between planning, design, art, animation, and programming.

Both source-confirmed videos are first-class project media and are loaded only when the visitor chooses to play.
