Autonomous — 2nd / 3rd Awards
Toon-shading graphics and gameplay logic for an award-winning Unity factory-style interactive project.
Project Context
Autonomous is a Unity 3D factory-style interactive project built around constructing a Rube Goldberg-like machine with animals and gathered resources.
- The player collects resources across the map and uses machines or animals to process them into usable ingredients.
- The project combines interactive gameplay with a stylized visual presentation.
- It was developed as an award-submission project at Kyung Hee University.
My Role & Implementation
I worked on toon-shading graphics and supporting gameplay logic.
- Wrote HLSL lighting functions for Unity Shader Graph, including main-light information and additional-light calculations.
- Built URP toon-shading behavior using Shader Graph, including diffuse and specular ramp textures and outline rendering through back-face rendering.
- Implemented gameplay logic such as player floating behavior on the sea and ingredient conversion after resources are processed by machines.
Result
The project produced an award-winning Unity interactive software project.
- Won 2nd Award at the 2nd Artistic Software Contest at Kyung Hee University.
- Won 3rd Award at the 2023 Software Festival at Kyung Hee University.
- Presented gameplay-system work and stylized shader and visual work in one completed project.
