Night at the Gallery — Puzzle / Stealth Game
A short first-person gallery escape project combining puzzle flow, stealth encounters, level design, and guidance UI.
Project Context
Night at the Gallery is an Unreal Engine 5 puzzle / stealth game developed for the Game Engine Basics class term project.
- The game is set in an art gallery where artworks come alive, and the player must escape by solving puzzles while avoiding threats.
- It was designed as a short first-person puzzle / stealth experience with an expected playtime of about 5–10 minutes.
- The project was developed by a 4-member team.
My Role & Implementation
I worked on the overall game design, level design, map production, AI difficulty, and in-game guidance UI.
- Designed the game’s systems, level flow, AI behavior, and difficulty structure to fit the intended short puzzle / stealth experience.
- Built the stage maps from the planned level design, then revised the levels through team feedback.
- Implemented in-game UI, including NPC detection indicators above enemies and trigger-based guidance UI inspired by the Half-Life 2 series.
Result
The project produced a playable UE5 puzzle / stealth game as a class term project.
- Completed a short first-person puzzle / stealth loop from gallery exploration to puzzle solving and escape.
- Delivered a playable build with designed levels, stealth encounters, AI behavior, and in-game guidance UI.
- The project served as a complete sophomore-year UE5 term project covering game design, level design, and playable implementation.
